Terrific two-sided authentic antique handbill for DeLaMano, a 19th century traveling magician working in America. The handbill, from 1877, advertises the wonders of magic performed by DeLaMano in his magic program. "De La Mano" means "of the hand"- in Italian.
As the handbill is two-sided, you may want to purchase an additional handbill so that you can frame both together, displaying both the front and the back of the handbill!
Handbills like this were meant to be disposable items, freely distributed to advertise the show, and meant to be thrown away. Thus, such delicate pieces of magic history are rare to find today.
Size: 6" x 9.5"
Color: blue paper, black ink
Condition: very good - never folded. Because the printing is on both sides, the ink has migrated through the paper.
A note about condition: These handbills are in great condition for being over 100 years old, and being printed inexpensively on thin paper. Occasionally a handbill may have minor age spots, minor paper or ink fading, minor paper discoloration and or slight chipping of the paper on the edges. All have ink migration. Because they have never been folded, they do frame up very nicely!
